Hotel to Trump Doonbeg Golf
You'll find Doonbeg 40 minutes or so due west of Shannon airport. Just keep going until you reach the Atlantic. You can't miss the golf course – just look out for the mountainous dunes and keep your eyes peeled. Somewhere around these spectacular 100ft high sandhills. The Doonbeg project is believed to be the largestsingle investment in this part of Ireland and this amazing golf course has a magnetic appeal for thousands of golfers. Doonbeg is a priceless jewel between Lahinch and Ballybunion and one that simply must be played.

Hotel to Lahinch Golf
The Championship Course, founded in 1892, was originally designed by Old Tom Morris and further enhanced by the world-renowned course architect, Dr Alister MacKenzie, in 1926. It was returned to its natural beauty, in more recent times, by our current course Architect, Dr Martin Hawtree. It is a true links with many towering dunes, overlooking Liscannor Bay.

Hotel to Ballybunion Golf
Tom Watson fell in love with Ballybunion and he goes out of his way to extol the course’s virtues. Afterseveral visits, Watson agreed to write an article for the course guide/planner. He writes: "After playing Ballybunion for the first time, a man would think that the game of golf originated here. There is a wild look to the place, the long grass covering the dunes that pitch and roll throughout the course making it very intimidating... in short, it is a course on which many golf architects should live and play before they build golf courses. I consider it a true test of golf."

Hotel to Waterville Golf
There are few courses that can boast such a fine collection of unique and great golf holes. Waterville has three outstanding par threes and three excellent par fives, the par fours are pretty good too. The 11th is a heavenly short par five with a rippling fairway protected on both flanks by towering dunes. The 366-yard par four 16th was once called “Round the Bend” because it follows the natural curvature of the Atlantic coastline. It was here that Liam Higgins, the local pro, had a hole-in-one on his way to setting a course record of 65. Fittingly, the hole is now called “Liam’s Ace”.

Hotel to Tralee Golf
“I have never come across a piece of land so ideally suited for the building of a golf course," said Arnold Palmer. Tralee Golf Club was his first Irish endeavour and it opened in 1984; it’s a rugged and exhilarating creation. Now, let’s be honest, Kerry is a very special county, the ‘Lake District’ of Ireland, an unspoilt, quiet and romantic place. Surely anybody could design a golf course in these surroundings? Well, first of all we might need to remind ourselves that Palmer wasn’t exactly a run-of-the-mill golfer and when he turned his attention to design, he always wanted to choreograph a links course in Ireland. When the opportunity arose, he wasn’t going to mess it up, was he? Palmer (and his associate, the late Ed Seay) designed a course that willstimulate the senses every bit as much asthe enchanting and breathtaking scenery. According to folklore, Palmer created the first nine and Mother Nature did the rest. The front nine at Tralee Golf Club plays across fairly level links land, but the majority of the holes hug the coastline and the ground is elevated, affording magnificent views from the cliff top across Tralee Bay to the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The back nine plays through mountainous dunes with fearsome carries across ravines to plateau greens.

Old Head Golf Links hasto be one of the world’s most exhilarating sites upon which golf is played. You feel asthough you are on the edge of the world here at Old Head and if you suffer from vertigo, some of the tees might present a problem. Three hundred feet up, looking over the edge of the cliff, you will notice seagulls gliding below you. Atlantic waves crash onto the rocks, booming and echoing asthey smash into the cave tunnels. It certainly takes your breath away.

Hotel to Trump Doonbeg Golf
Arglass Golf Club was formed in 1896 when members fashioned a 7-hole course which was soon extended to form a 9-hole layout. It was not until 1970 that the number of holes on the course were doubled to a full 18-hole configuration. The course is kept in tiptop condition with well-tended fairways, tricky pot bunkers and fast, true greens. The clubhouse is a bitspecial too – a 14th century Castle that was once the home of the Fitzgeralds, Earls of Kildare – where you find the atmosphere relaxed and friendly

Hotel to Royal County Down Golf
Set against the backdrop of the spellbinding Mountains of Mourne, the links land at Royal County Down seems heaven sent for golf, and there are few more incredible places to enjoy a game. The layout was devised by Old Tom Morris, whose name will forever be inextricably linked to St Andrews, and is a pure test of links golf. Most recently used for the Irish Open in 2015, Royal County Down is etched in the list of the most desirable courses anywhere in the world, and has garnered praise from the loftiest of golf's stars; Open Championship legend and links golf master, Tom Watson, said: "It is a tremendous test of golf and the outward half especially is asfine a nine holes as I have ever played." -
Hotel to Portstewart Golf Club
A golfing trip to Northern Ireland would not be complete without a round on the Strand course. The members here are very warm and welcoming and if you add this course to a round at both Royal Portrush and Royal County Down, you will have played three of the world’s finest links courses, all of which have played host to the Irish Open. Portstewart was honoured to host the Irish Open for the first time in 2017, when Spaniard John Rahm finished six shots ahead of the field with a 4-round total of 264, which was 24 under par for the tournament. Golfers.

Hotel to Ballyliffin Glashedy Golf
Ballyliffin is often described as “the Ballybunion of the North” or “the Dornoch of Ireland” and the reason is simple; all the aforementioned are set amidst towering natural sand dunes. This youngster is no exception, except that the Glashedy links has been flattened out, ensuring that the fairways are relatively even and capable of hosting a championship... there's a parallel here to the fairways of Royal Birkdale.

Hotel to Rosapenna St Patrick's Golf
Construction of the new St Patrick’s began in April 2018, with Doak’slead associate Eric Iverson working alongside Clyde Johnson and Angela Moser to complete the build during 2020. The final piece of the jigsaw was put in place when head greenkeeper George Helly who previously worked at Bandon Dunes and Tara Ito was brought in to look after the grow-in leading up to the official opening in June 2021. In only a handful of years, St Patrick's is now listed inside the World Top 50 rankings
